Overview

The Associate of Science degree in Nursing is a two-year program that prepares graduates to enter the field of nursing as nursing generalists who apply the nursing process to care for individuals or groups across a variety of healthcare settings. Graduates of this program may be employed in hospitals or other acute care settings, long-term care, and ambulatory settings.

The program is designed for students seeking employment in nursing and who may choose to continue at any Florida university as a junior to complete a four-year bachelor's degree in nursing through an RN-to-BSN program. Upon successful completion of the program, the graduate is eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) to become licensed as a registered nurse.

ASN Program Mission

The ASN program prepares students to engage in life-long learning to function as professional nurse generalists who provide high-quality, safe, evidence-based, culturally sensitive nursing care to individuals, communities, and global populations.

Admission to the ASN program follows the institute's standard nursing admission process, including a minimum HESI A2 entrance exam score of 80% for the ASN program.
